Immersed in a confinement that we are gradually leaving behind, it is time to go out again and recover those activities that have been on pause during this time. The moment lived has been intense, it has brought us complex moments and, if we have chosen it, also some learning with lifeguard class as individuals and as a society.
This is a writing that Radial Java Castillo shares with all of us and that is born from learning during confinement and swimming in the sea:
You are in front, looking at the water. You know that the next step you are going to take will make you dive. Not only in the water, but also in yourself. That is why the warm-up minutes, after putting on your hat and glasses, are a ritual preparation to enter the depths of your being.
Just as in life we often think (“I already know what this is about living”), we also think about it when we prepare to swim (“I already know what this is about swimming”). It is surely true enough: we live and float. But it is not so much what we do, but how we do it. And to learn how, while we swim, the technique shows us the way. When we are training and they tell us that "efficiency and effectiveness". The well-placed stroke, the arm, the elbow, the hand, the just and coordinated kick with the stroke to maximize propulsion, the rotation of the body that helps us to position and make the stroke and kick easy, give amplitude to our movements … And when we do that we realize that it doesn't take much force, nor does it use a lot of frequency, nor does it use a lot of tension. We discovered that everything at its right point is what makes us flow and enjoy towards our goal, which I am sure will be a few kilometers. Much of the resistance we encounter in the water depends on how we use our physical resources, and therefore we are able to control it ourselves.
This same approach that I use when I swim, I also transfer to life. To the day to day. How many times do we think that we have to do more, with more load, that the important thing is to get there, to achieve that goal that we have set for ourselves, and we forget how we do it? How many times the technique of our life is not "efficient and effective"? A reactive attitude towards a specific situation, a limiting belief that does not let you show your full potential, a hidden emotion that does not stop growing while we do everything possible to keep it from coming out... And of course, this does not let us flow and enjoy the challenges that we find in front of us.
In the sea, when we are floating in the middle of an infinite amount of water, the vulnerability of the human being is evident. We, little ones, in front of the immensity of the sea. But best of all, we enjoyed it! And life is not the same? We don't know for sure what the next moment holds for us. Although we can make projections, we are faced with uncertainty, with infinite possibilities. How in the water, we also enjoy?
Recognizing our vulnerability, which is not weakness, and accepting it helps us capture all our resources, activate our abilities and personal potential, to respond to the situations that arise on a daily basis. It helps us to be honest with ourselves, listen to what we need and take care of ourselves. Know who we are and what we want in order to feel good.
This is the power of the human being: the ability to flow and enjoy in the immensity of life. Swim with American lifeguard vienna va life, learn the "efficient and effective" technique to take one more stroke, to take one more step.
Now, it is time to consider how we want to return. We have the opportunity that this crisis is giving us to look at "normality" with new eyes. We can learn from everything we do in our day to day, and we can get closer to ourselves to live in a healthier way, listening to each other, with coherence and responsibility. Be the change you want to see in the world!
